(Note: These pictures were taken when we lived in Colorado.)
After XH and I separated and I decided that I want to move back to Colorado, I made up my mind to sell it. I thought I could use the money towards moving costs, plus I really should get rid of as much as possible. I really do love it though, and I love my XH's grandmother, so parting with it isn't exactly easy. Well tonight I came to the conclusion that I AM keeping it, unless it's absolutely necessary to get rid of it to move. I've always known the potential it possesses, even while it still lived with my XH's grandmother. Plus I've been so inspired by a plethora of DIY furniture rehabbing blogs, that now I can't wait to turn it into something that looks like it belongs in Pottery Barn!
Unfortunately it is necessary for me to continue to keep this project on the back burner. I just do not have the funds for it right now, plus I'd rather wait until my sister and I are settled into our new place (Yay for sisters as roommates! Can't wait!). That way I'll have a better idea on what colors to choose, plus I bet I can count on my sister for some rehab assistance!
I'm 95% certain that I'll paint it white, with some slight distressing of course, and paint the inside a light, grayish-blue. I'm not sure yet if I want to keep the glass doors on or remove them. I intend to use the top hutch as a bookcase with some accessories and decor placed here and there. Like I said, I've wanted to rehab this thing for awhile now, but the whole using-it-as-a-bookcase-thing just came to me tonight!
Yay! SO EXCITED!!!
